Al-Haj FAW Motors recently announced that it would launch Bestune cars in Pakistan “soon”. Bestune, formerly known as Besturn, is a subsidiary of the parent company FAW Group.
The company was conceived back in 2006 to work for the social and economic sector by making more expensive but modern, comfortable, and reliable cars. To date, the company has been actively working in the Chinese and Russian Markets, where it has gained good popularity.
Chinese Mazda? The company also owns a sister automaker called Hyqi, which is also owned by FAW. Both companies are making cars for the classic Mazda Sedans, which is why, in hindsight, cars from both companies can quickly get confused on their own. The only difference is the badge.
Bestune currently owns eight cars in its production line, four sedans, and the remaining 4, Crossover SUVs. Various jokes and reports suggest that Bestune will enter the import with T77 Crossover SUV to the Pakistani market. The T77 is a subcompact crossover SUV launched in November 2018 at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Since its launch, the car has been sold on the Chinese market only.
It is a modern crossover SUV that deserves a sharp look (very similar to modern Volvo SUVs) and cutting-edge technology used in partnership with Xiaomi, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies that makes smart devices.
Prices in China
Reportedly, the car could have six cars in China, and the price ranges from RMB 105,800 and RMB 138,80o in China, equivalent to PKR 2,563,000 and PKR 3,362,000. That is the price level of Honda City and Toyota Yaris for a large, functional, and modern car. But nothing can be said about the built quality, honesty, and care in Pakistan so far.
Engine & Inside Types
Depending on the engine, the car can be equipped with a 1.2 liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 141 petrol, 204 newton/meter torches, and can be replaced with a speed-6-manual or 7-speed automatic gearbox…
In the latest version, consumers can choose a 1.5-liter T-GDI engine with a 4-cylinder engine, powered by Hyundai, which produces 166 horsepower and 258 Newton Meters flashlights, and can have a 6-speed manual or box. –
Inside, you are greeted with intelligent connectivity technologies such as high-end interior, single-screen infotainment system, and modern Mercedes Benz like the instrument cluster, best one radio, AI music, smart entertainment, and intelligent control function.
Among other features, the SUV comes with:
- Autonomous parking Driver and passenger
- airbags Parking sensors
- Lane exit warning Lane Keep
- Assist Conflict warning Blind-spot monitoring
- Custom cruise control
- Hill-Start Assist and Descent Control,
- Traction control ABS brakes with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BA) technology
There are also reports of a much larger and better T99 SUV to be released in Pakistan, but so far, nothing has been confirmed. However, based on the first look Bestun, Pakistan, shows a lot of promise in its ability to turn the automotive sector around. These affordable, yet modern cars can create ‘not so fresh’ healthy competition in the Pakistani automotive industry.
