Islamabad: On Saturday Faiz Hameed Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen visited Kabul to meet with the Taliban representatives and leaders to discuss the matters related to border management, safe evacuation of foreign nationals, and safety and security in the region, DG ISI will spend a day in the Afghan capital. He will work and meets with Pakistan’s Ambassador Mansoor Ahmed Khan and his company on matters of repatriation and transit through Pakistan and the border situation, Taliban came into power last month, since thousands of foreign nationals have been evacuated from the war-ravaged nation with Pakistan’s cooperation.
ISI chief will address the matters with the Taliban related to the issue of pending appeals from nations and international organizations for repatriation and transit through Pakistan. On the other hand, Sources said border control was another major problem that will arrive under attention during the time visit of Lt Gen Faiz Hameed.
According to the sources, will look into the focus to assure that the mechanism under which Afghans cross over the border daily as routine and then return, works easily and only those permitted to avail themselves of this convenience do so. Media reports said, that suggesting large refugee inflow or demand from Afghanistan at the Pakistan borders was ‘incorrect’.
