EasyPaisa, digital-payment services provider has collaborated with NADRA Technologies Limited (NTL) to provide the customers cross-medium services. The e-Sahulat networks around the country are providing easy access to digital financial services. A total of 12,000 NADRA e-Sahulat portals with Easypaisa services host will enable the customers to avail the services.

The mutual agreement has been signed by Head of EasyPaisa, Telenor Microfinance Bank, Khurram Malik, and Director General, Public Services Directorate NADRA. Senior officials of NADRA and Telenor Microfinance Bank have also attended the signing ceremony.

EasyPaisa is an advanced digital-payment services provider with over 150,000 branchless banking agents across the country. The company has been the pioneer in bringing revolution to financial services. The collaboration among both companies is the evidence of adoption of digital platforms at the governmental level. It will eventually enable people across the country to gain easy access to digital financial services.

It has also been seen that with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, e-commerce has become the main hub for trade. Digital payments have also become the most favorable way to make financial transactions. With this initiative, the digital ecosystem will also be flourished in Pakistan which is now seems to be the future of the trade.

During the ceremony, Head of EasyPaisa, Telenor Microfinance Bank, Mr. Khurram Malik said that in order to move forward we need to build effective partnerships with tech-based companies in the country. This collaboration will help both NADRA and Telenor Microfinance Bank to create a simplified and convenient way of digital financial services that will be in the reach of everyone.

Director-General, Public Service Directorate NTL, Mr. Ali Javed has also drawn attention to the need for such partnerships between the public and private sectors. He highlighted that the tech-based collaborations will facilitate the general public and improve the financial inclusion ratios. NADRA is mainly concentrating on developing new partnerships that will not only help the general public accessing digital services but also create employment opportunities in the country. He also promised to make sure that the underprivileged people will not be left out.

EasyPaisa has become one of the most prominent digital-payment service platforms in pandemic times. As the lockdowns across the country immobilized every aspect of life. This initiative will allow people to conduct various financial transactions easily using their mobile phones and the convenience of their homes without any contact with others. Services can be availed through a smartphone app, USSD codes on feature phones, and 150,000 agents across the country.
