Federal Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry has revealed that the ECP will shortly be provided with indigenously enriched e-voting technology. The improvement is in series with PM Imran Khan’s idea to start an e-voting scheme in the following general votes to assure neutrality and clarity.

According to aspects, the Science and Technology Ministry has elaborated the e-voting technology in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics (NIE), COMSATS University & National University of Science and Technology (NUST). Last week, PM Imran Khan had directed concerned officials to promote attempts to start the e-voting system during a committee conference.

In November 2020, PM Imran Khan had declared elective betterment for free and honest votes in the country. The improvements involved an e-voting policy for general votes, open balloting by a show of hands during Senate polls, & enabling abroad Pakistanis to cast their choices.
