On Wednesday Pakistan strongly condemned the unjust demolition of the ancient Bilal Mosque in BJP-ruled Haryana by Indian authorities in consort with pliant judiciary under the BJP-RSS regime in Islamabad. Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said ‘The Hindutva-driven BJP-RSS joins continuous targeting of Muslims and their areas of worship is an enduring blot on the so-called largest democracy.

The spokesperson recalled that the Indian Supreme Court in a controversial decision in November 2019 enabled the extremist Hindu people to build Ram Mandir at the famous site of Babri Masjid, which was demolished by Hindutva goons in 1992, The Indian court was also culpable in acquitting the criminals who had organized the removal of the Babri Masjid in the public light. He added, Muslims and their communities of worship were attacked with state cooperation during anti-Muslim pogroms in Gujarat in 2002 and Delhi in February 2020 and without any legal accountability, Targeting of Muslims and their religious areas and cultural heritage remains unabated in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and in India.

Asim Iftikhar stated that Pakistan will continue to support the international society, especially the United Nations, OIC, and related human rights groups to continue India accountable for systemic and blatant human rights violations of youths, especially Muslims. A mob in India’s Madhya Pradesh had mercilessly hit a Muslim bangles seller after he had used a fake title earlier on August 23. According to a news report “If a man hides his religion, name, and caste then bitterness comes in. The mob had also reportedly stolen the man of 10,000 Indian rupees.
