As the governing council confirmed, IPL 2020 is going to be held in Sharjah Abu Dhabi, and Dubai from 19 September to 10 November. In this regard, Sourav Ganguly, President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has visited the Sharjah Cricket Stadium to oversee the preparations.
The former cricketer posted a photo of his visit on Instagram. The photo has a portrait of Pakistani cricket stars in the background. It was however surprisingly odd and unexpected, that he intentionally blurred the background.
Have a look at his Instagram post:
Here is the blurred image of Pakistani stars:
It was the portrait of the Pakistani Cricket team taken after they won the Sharjah Cup in 2003 by defeating Zimbabwe. Four teams participated in the tournament including Sri Lanka, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Pakistan, and our team won from Zimbabwe by 68 runs.
Have a look at the actual portrait:
The relationship between Pakistan and Indian cricket boards is continuously worsening and as a result of that, since 2012, both the rivals have not played any series. The last Test match between India and Pakistan have been played 14 years ago. The indulgence of politics in cricket and the antagonistic behavior of BCCI made it clear that India definitely does not want to retain relations with Pakistan, be it sports or neighboring.
It is relevant to mention here that India has not allowed any Pakistani cricketer to play Indian Premier League since its first edition in 2008. Twelve years have gone, and apparently there is no further hope to assume India-Pakistan bilateral series in near future.
Ganguly might have got bitter memories of losing against Pakistan in Sharjah Cricket Stadium, as they have lost 18 ODIs against Pakistan out of 24, and got a winning ratio of 0 : 3 against Pakistan.
