March 23: The nation is commemorating Pakistan Day today with a strong commitment to transforming the country into a truly Islamic and welfare state, as Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisioned. On this day in 1940, the historic Lahore Resolution was passed, laying the groundwork for the fulfillment of the goal of a separate nation for Muslims in South Asia.

The federal capital offered a 31-gun salute, while provincial capitals offered a 21-gun salute at the start of this day. Today is a national holiday. After Fajr prayers, special prayers for the nation’s development, prosperity, and unity were offered in mosques.

All events associated with the day are going to be held in accordance with SOPs keeping in view the COVID-19 situation. Due to adverse weather conditions in Islamabad, the Pakistan Day parade was rescheduled. The parade has been delayed due to rain predicted by the Pakistan Metrological Department in Islamabad for the next 2 days, according to the Army’s public relations wing.

As per the ISPR statement, the parade will now take place on March 25th with passion and enthusiasm. In honor of Pakistan Day on March 23, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released the patriotic song “Aik Qaum, Aik Manzil.” The song Aik Qaum, Aik Manzil demonstrates the same ideology of Pakistani solidarity, strength, and unshakable determination, even after 81 years.
