NESPAK, in partnership with MWH Inc USA, provided consulting services as ‘owner engineer’ to Mira Power Limited, a subsidiary of KOSEP South Korea, for the 102MW Gulpur Hydropower project. NESPAK Managing Director Dr. Tahir Masood said that as the project was successfully implemented, it generates cheap electricity on the national grid.

It provided comprehensive technical support to Mira Power Limited in securing accreditation by various government entities and supporting EPC contractors in resolving complex issues that arose during construction.

Gulpur Hydropower Plant is a hydroelectric power plant located on the Pochch River near Gulpur in Kotli district in Azad Kashmir. The project is funded by Korea Exim Bank, Asia Development Bank (ADB), International Finance Corporation (IFC), Islamic Development Bank, and ECO Bank. The project was developed under the government’s Creative Energy Policy in 2002 as adopted in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
