On March 20, (today) Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination Faisal Sultan reported that Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Prime Minister was vaccinated two days ago under NCOC rules because he is over 60 years old. It’s plausible that he got the virus before getting vaccinated, but that hasn’t been verified.  However, it must be kept in mind that vaccines do not prevent infection; instead, they strengthen your immune system by providing antibodies. After the first shot, antibodies to Covid-19 could take up to 28 days to develop.

Although it is possible to become infected after being vaccinated, the severity of the disease will be less extreme than it would be without vaccination. It should also be noted that, as previously stated, vaccinated persons may also catch the virus and spread it to others.
