The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood, has declared the Matriculation and Intermediate exams across the nation will be carried as purposed. He stated this while discussing a press gathering in Islamabad after chairing an inter-provincial conference of the education and health representatives to examine the COVID-19 condition over the country and choose on the closing of schools. Shafqat Mahmood stated that it has been settled that the board exams for Grades IX, X, XI, and XII will be taken as per the program that was earlier declared by the provincial administrations and boards.

He affirmed that the attendees of the conference had determined to have all the educational institutes in the regions with high coronavirus positivity percentages closed until 11 April. In light of this conclusion, all the educational institutes in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura & Sargodha will remain shut until 11 April, and the provincial authorities will be liable for the brief closing of the schools in the hotspots. Minister Mahmood continued that he will carry a conference with the Cambridge exam committee to see whether its exams can be delayed.
