WhatsApp has become the must-have and most popular messaging app in smartphones. In more than 180 countries, this app has been used with around 2 billion users.

The app has been improving itself with the addition of little features, this time came with the option of automatic deletion of text messages, GIFs, photos, or videos soon as they are seen by the recipient.

This option was previously available in the app manually. In the past, this new feature known as “Expiring Media” has been leaked many times however, it has now been uncovered in the latest WhatsApp beta build by WABetaInfo.

This feature is just like the one in Snapchat, where the messages and media users share with the receivers disappear as soon as they see it.  once the option will be featured in the app, users will find a new “Expiring Media” option right next to the message box. By tapping on the option, users can delete whatever messages and media they want. As the recipient leaves the chat, the selected messages/media will be deleted.

This option still has a flaw as it will not work for the contacts who have set up the option of automatically downloading media. There could be an option of “Screenshot detection” as well in the new WhatsApp, but it is not sure as of now. The details will be revealed with the completion of the new WhatsApp beta. However, the “Expiring Media” option is under development with an unknown release date.
